This traditional Vathal is from the Mango basin of TamilNadu, Periyakulam (IN)
Specialty: As mango is a seasonal fruit and it is the most loved fruit of the Tamil geography they started innovating ways to use Mangoes all through the year. Among the varieties Mango Vathal (Sun dried) is very famous for preparing Kuzhambu (Soup) all through the year. This Mango Vathal is prepared naturally by adding Salt and Turmeric. It is sun dried without any artificial additives. It is made in old village style so it takes more than a month for preparation. This is traditionally used to make Puli Kuzhambu and other Vathal kuzhambu varieties. It can also be added to Fish Curry, Chicken curry etc.,
